Last Week’s Mmm’s

Last week had 6 succulent posts! We had a lesson on Responsible BDSM, a Drunk Fuck, and A night at the Circus. There was also a Stretch, a finale in the Barn, and a conversation with our Inner voice. You can read all those Mmm’s here!

Mmm Makers

July is here, and usually this is where I would highlight a new Mmm Maker. There are still plenty of talent to place in the spotlight, but summer is in full swing (in the Northern Hemisphere, at least) and many people are busy do summer-y things. Mmm Makers will take a break until the first Friday in September. Until then, take a peek at all the past Mmm Makers. A huge thank you to all who have been in the spotlight so far!

Want to be in highlighted as a Mmm Maker? Let MrsK know!

Week 79 Recommended Read

Open- an uncensored memoir of love, liberation, and non-monogamy by Rachal Krantz

Open caught my attention in the New and Notable section of my local library. On the cover it blatantly speaks of non-monogamy, a topic that intrigues me greatly. So on a whim, I grabbed it. And within the first afternoon I had read one hundred pages and had no intention of putting it down.

When Rachel meets Adam, he’s clear he’s looking for committed relationship- but not one based in monogamy or exclusivity. Interested, but wary, Rachel decides to see if her ideas of a relationship can fit inside Adams. This is a true story about self discovery, how trust is created, destroyed and rebuilt. How freedom and imprisonment can exist in the same space and a brings a new definition of autonomy.

With explicit BDSM scenes, a unique openness about polyamory like never seen before, and a rawness rarely documented, this book is must read.

Week 79 Recipe

Caesar- A Canadian Cocktail

caesar- week 79 recipe

July 1 is Canada day, a celebration of the Confederation of Canada. An extra long weekend will mean extra long celebrations, which is something that Canadians do best.

The Caesar was invented in Calgary, Alberta in 1969, and is a Canadian favourite. Depending on where you order one, a Casear can be a meal itself, topped with everything from pickled asparagus to mini cheeseburgers. This recipe is just the basics, but feel free to dress it however you like.

Caesar Cocktail (as per the Canadian Encyclopedia)

Canada's national cocktail, made with vodka, a tomato clam juice mixture, spices, Worcestershire, a touch of Tabasco, and traditionally served with a celery stick. Invented by Walter Chell in Calgary, Alberta in 1969; Chell wanted a new drink to celebrate the opening of his Italian restaurant. And voila, a Canadian beverage with a Roman name.

  • celery as desired- you can substitute this part with almost anything you want, is: pickles asparagus, pickles, beans, carrots, etc.- I've even seen mozza sticks and bacon) or omit entirely

  • salt and pepper to taste
  • glass rim seasoning or celery salt as desired

  • Spice each with desired amounts of salt and pepper, tabasco, Worcestershire and additional lime juice. Place lime wedge and celery stick inside glass.

Notes

please drink responsibly. Drinking and driving is not only illegal but could have terrifying consequences, for yourself and others.

To keep this vegan friendly nd shellfish allergy safe, use tomato juice. The taste is slightly different, but better safe than sorry! (and let’s be honest, you only ever notice with the first one)
