It’s September already! The summer just flew by, and a new season is about to begin. With the changing season comes another Mmm Maker. Please welcome a deliciously dynamic duo, Snake and Charmer of Steeled Snake.
The pair have been blogging about their life as a married couple, exploring D/s, chastity and kink since 2015. You can find them on Twitter here and here, and Instagram where Charmer shares a lovely post of a fabulous Bra (clevage included)- everyday!
Although they post on Mmm Mondays every week and always share an image from their eventful lives, I asked the Steeled Snake couple some questions to get to know them better. This is what they had to say.
What is your astrological sign?
[Snake] I’m a Taurus and constantly working on refining my stubborn side. We’re constantly seeing different pairings and so many say that Taurus and Scorpio are opposites, so hold on tight for the ride. Seems pretty legit.
[Charmer] As you might have figured out from his–I’m a Scorpio. I think it fits my somewhat fiery and flashy personality. Scorpio and Taurus either are great together or kill one another. We seem to have made it work really well!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
[Snake] I always wanted to be a pilot. Not positive why, Father in the Air Force, but really I was all about the commercial pilot thing. I think it was the travel and being in charge. LOL
[Charmer] When I was really little I wanted to be a vet. As I grew up, though, I wanted to be a writer. Between technical writing and research, and the blog, I did stay with the writing and absolutely love it.
When did you first start writing?
[Snake] When Charmer and I decided we would start the blog as a way of just exploring. I think that was about 2017? I do write for another part of our lives too, but it’s completely unrelated and typically non-fiction.
[Charmer] I did look and we started in March 2015. We both write in our real lives, but the blog is our own collaboration so it’s a labor of love.
What led to the idea of Steeled Snake?
[Snake] Charmer. She stumbled on to some ideas, some new things we’d not explored. They sounded like a blast and then we found kinky Twitter and met some amazing people that encouraged us to just write about whatever we explored, found, or felt like writing about. We started, absolutely terrified, and have never looked back.
[Charmer] The funniest part is that I might have found the ideas, but he did most of the writing at the beginning. I was overthinking everything I wanted to write so it just didn’t happen. Now, I love writing for it.
What are you most proud of accomplishing? Either in blogging or in general? Why?
[Snake] For our work here, I love our “couple” approach – it’s been really great and unique and the back and forth has been fun. But most proud of – we have morphed – in the last 5 years we’ve learned more about each other, about us, faster and more consistently… not just on the play side, but all around, because it’s been a thing about changing communications. Pretty cool.
[Charmer] What I am most proud of in our blog is that we are real. Yes, there is fiction, but we are real with what we write about us and photos that we share. Everyone knows that I don’t wear leather and boots for play and that sometimes life just gets in the way. We try not to hold ourselves up as some great example, but instead try to share our reality and love.
What is one book everyone should read?
[Snake] Buddhist Bootcamp, or Lee Child Jack Reacher books.
[Charmer] Wow. I mean, I have to mention Happy Femdom Stories Volume 2 by Sharyn Ferns because she honored us by sharing our story in the book. The first volume was amazing too. Besides that? I have too many authors and books that I have no idea what to mention. I love thriller and mystery books, mostly.
Name a song that means something to you.
Feel free to share why. Alternatively, tell us about your favourite song of all time.
[Snake] Better Midler, The Rose. I can’t get over how this song has stuck with us for so long. And yet it’s so appropriate with seasonal stuff, the thorns, all of it.
[Charmer] That’s sneaky taking that one since it was our first song. I guess I’ll mention Renegade by Styx. They are one of our favorite bands and it just always puts me in a wonderful mood. Or just about anything by P!nk.
If they made a movie about you, who do you think would play you?
[Snake] Matt Damon. Always the underdog, looking to kick butt.
[Charmer] I have no idea. How about Jessica Chastain because she is absolutely amazing?
What quote defines the way you live your life?
[Snake] “This, too, shall pass.”
[Charmer] He stole mine. I think I’ll share a nerdy one. “Allons-y” from Doctor Who. It fits our spontaneous natures.
What is your favourite recipe?
[Snake] Italian Roundsteak. So. Much. Yum.
