Send me a Picture
It appears sexting (defined by oxford as the action or practice of sending sexually explicit photographs or messages via mobile phone) is gathering momentum. In 2023, 1 in 5 mobile phone users worldwide used their device for the purpose of sending a sext.
It appears men are slightly more likely to send a naughty message with 61% reporting to have engaged in sexting compared to that of their female counterparts at 56%. South Africa hails the top sexting country with 77% of adults having said they’ve done it.
And although about 34% of college students say they have sent a flirty photo; it seems those who are married or are in long-term relationships send more at 46%. A whopping 48% of those in committed relationships say sexting has had a positive outcome for their relationship.
Sexting can be a fun way to incorporate dirty talk into your relationship and allows exhibitionists and voyeurs a safe place to engage in those types of play.
What’s stopping you from sending a picture?
*Always remember to always get consent before sending images of your eggplants and tulips, and please speak to your children about internet safety and stranger danger.
Last Week
Last Week we learned the history of anal toys, made Cold-day Chicken Noodle Soup and had two delicious links.
The first was from MrsK, in a short tale called Sometimes, about Masturbation, complete with image!
And Mrs. Fever stopped by to pull on our Heartstrings.

Mmm’s on Medium
On Medium, our Mmm Monday’s theme has recently changed to Life Matters, because it does, and many of life’s occurrences make us say Mmm. May More has joined in, bringing prompts from her former blog Sex Matters, and has a new feature page named the same.
This week, across the Mmm Monday’s publication, we’ve had contributions from:
Jackson Goode with tale about love and grief in The USO Show
Jacinta Palmer with a recipe incorporated into a memoir in Get into this Pickle
Laura Knapke with a recipe in Homemade Brown Sugar Banana Bread
May More with an introduction to Mmm Mondays in Open Talk about Sexuality
Simone Francis with a discussion on why Porn is bad for writing in Why I don’t watch Porn
and Laura Knapke with another recipe, this time for Homemade Chili
Find those all here. Only on Medium!
Book of the Month
All the World’s a Wonder by Melia McClure
A playwright possessed by her muses. An actress desperate to succeed. A doctor haunted by lost love.
Three people cross time and space to meet through the playwright’s bizarre creative process: to create, she must become her characters; to tell her tragic story, the actress must speak from the grave; to heal his harrowing past, the doctor must surrender to his patient—the playwright.
Set in the surreal landscape of the playwright’s modern Manhattan, the glittering, treacherous Broadway of the insatiable Jazz Age, and the tranquil, spice-scented escape of a Grecian paradise, All the World’s a Wonder explores the nature and cost of creating art, the devastating persistence of love, and the redemptive power of storytelling.
This book is nothing like I thought it would be. It’s better! I’ve met a few more muses, all with their own idiosyncrasies, and may have discovered something important about our protagonist. But I’m not telling. I never give away an ending!
Available on Kindle.
Week 159 Recipe
After weeks of sugar in December, in January I usually need a detox, but sometimes I still get a craving. These are the perfect compromise of sweet and healthy. Only 3 ingredients.
Chocolate Pomegranate Bark
Ingredients
- 7 ounces dark chocolate or 3 ingredient homemade chocolate recipe
- 1/2 to 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/2 cup dry roasted almonds
Instructions
- Melt the dark chocolate (about two bars worth) in the microwave or a double broiler. Or, if you’re using homemade chocolate, just mix together all the ingredients.
- Mix half of the pomegranate seeds and almonds into the chocolate.
- Spread the mixture into a glass baking dish lined with parchment paper. You can spread it as thin or thickly as you wish.
- Top with the remaining seeds and nuts and press down gently so that they will stick.
- Refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until firm.
- Cut roughly with a knife or break the bark into uneven pieces. No need to be perfect.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to 6 months.
