Week 73 Recipe
Cream Cheese Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint Cookies
Equipment
- 1 mixer/beater
- 1 large bowl
- 1 medium bowl
- 1 Rolling Pin
- 1 large or 2 small baking pans
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter softened
- 6 oz Cream Cheese 1 pkg approx.
- 2 cups flour all-purpose
- 2 tbsp sugar granulated
- 2 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 4 tbsp jam any as desired
- powdered sugar optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F/180C
- In large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter together until fluffy.
- In medium bowl, whisk flour and baking soda together. Add salt and sugar.
- Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients, and mix until well blended.
- Roll dough onto flour surface to 1/4 inch or 6 mm thickness an cutout into rounds (use a glass or a cookie cutter).
- Place 2 inches or 5 cm apart and press thumb into center of each cookie lightly.
- fill each cookie with 1/4 tsp jam of choice.
- Bake each pan for 10-12 minutes, until edges are browned.
- Chill on cooling rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Enjoy!
