Welcome to Week 105 of Mmm Mondays, where we turn Monday woes into Monday whoas!

It’s the last weekend of 2022, and I can’t say I’ll miss this year. It seems I spent a lot of it making plans that never came to fruition. Isn’t that the case for many of us? For many years?

Regardless, it’s customary to give an upbeat toast to announce the arrival of another lap around the sun, and this one seems like just the one we need.

Here’s to doing and drinking, not sitting and thinking.

Happy New Year! May 2023 be everything this year wasn’t.

Last Week’s Links

It being Christmas, it wasn’t surprising to receive few submissions, but the three we did get the honour to read were delicious.

As always, Marie delighted us with two stories. The first, A Christmas Spanking hit all the right spots (no pun intended), when Naomi asks couple Jayden and Jody for a helping hand.

Her second was Under the Mistletoe, where Nancy and Jim make the most of the office Christmas party.

Our third tale was from David Mei, with Pretty Ribbons. Giving new meaning to pretty in pink!

You can read all those Mmm’s here.

This section will be back in January (I hope). Until then, check out all these spotlight posts.

Tantalizing Tales

Who knew Christmas could be so sexy? Well, Tantalizing Tales did, of course. But my pick for this week isn’t Christmas themed, but worth celebrating in it’s own right.

Will Anne take his pants off?

This is part 7 of Alex’s Handcuffs for Beginners series. It can be read as a standalone, but I don’t think you’ll want to.

The only thing separating David from his wife’s new toy is a thin piece of fabric. Sometimes the waiting is the hardest part.

Week 105 Recipe

Let’s be honest, there’s already plenty of food during the holidays, and most of us need a drink instead.

French 75

The French 75 is that rare creature of a cocktail: elegant enough to make you feel like it’s New Year‘s Eve in Paris but made with just a few simple ingredients- watch for the kick, it is named after a piece of artillery.
Total Time5 minutes
Course: alcoholic, beverages, Drinks, party
Cuisine: French
Keyword: celebration
Servings: 1

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker with strainer

Ingredients

  • oz gin such as Hendrick’s
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 -¾ oz simple syrup see notes
  • 2 oz Champagne
  • Long spiral lemon twist for serving

Instructions

  • Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.
  • Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into a large flute. Top with Champagne; garnish with lemon twist.

Notes

Simple syrup is the only element of this cocktail recipe that requires a little work: Add 1 cup of boiling water to 1 cup of sugar and stir vigorously until the sugar dissolves completely, then chill until cool. Champagne is the traditional choice for the bubbles, but any good and very dry sparkling wine like cava or prosecco will work in a pinch.
